Hemmings Find of the Day – 1954 Edwards America
One of the dozens of cars that the Petersen Automotive Museum sold at auction last year, this 1954 Edwards America recently hit the market again, this time sporting a fresh restoration in the same dark-green-over-tan-leather combination it previously wore. Cleaning it up appears to have done wonders for the low-mileage and limited-production 2+2, to the point where it wouldn’t be surprising to see it on a concours field now. From the seller’s description:
The second of only five Edwards Americas ever produced. A long-time feature at the Petersen Automotive Museum – America’s preeminent automotive museum. Recent frame-on restoration. Finished in gorgeous dark green with tan leather interior. 317-cubic-inch Lincoln V-8/205-horsepower. Automatic transmission. Believed to have been driven only 497-miles since new. Beautiful hand-stitched leather interior. Gorgeous Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. A stunning complement of Stewart-Warner gauges. Hand finished wood dash. Power steering. Power windows.
