Hemmings Find of the Day – 1953 Oldsmobile 98 4 Door Sedan
Though second-generation Oldsmobile 98s (representing the 1948 – 1953 model years) aren’t exactly rare, finding one with (most of) its original paint and less than 27,000 miles on the clock doesn’t happen everyday. The owners of this 1953 Oldsmobile 98 for sale on Hemmings.com have apparently racked up just 26,600 miles in its six-decade lifespan, with only the Burma Brown roof and visor getting a respray in the 1990s. It comes with Oldsmobile’s 165-horsepower, 304-cubic-inch Rocket V-8, mated to a Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission. From the seller’s description:
26600 correct miles. Impeccable trim #94, Light/Dark Green Gabardine cloth interior with original complimentary green headliner and carpets. Exceptional trunk and engine compartments as well as undercarriage. Exterior body is #60 Polar White while roof and Cadet Visor are #63 Burma Brown. The Burma Brown paint portion was an early 90′s repaint. Lansing built body #21955 includes EZ Eye Tinted Glass, PB, Spotlight Mirror, Outside Cadet Visor, Padded Dash, and several convenience group items.
