Hemmings Find of the Day – 1953 Kaiser Dragon
The benefit of older restorations is that, with time, they almost become indiscernible from original. If it weren’t for the accounting of the owner of this 1953 Kaiser Dragon for sale on Hemmings.com, would anybody other than a trained eye be able to tell what’s original and was replaced/refinished nearly 40 years ago when the car was partially restored? From the seller’s description:
Has 6 cylinder, automatic and power steering. Runs and drives well. Stored last 32+ years. Was restored in the mid 70′s and still shows well. Nice paint with some minor chips, but overall very nice. Interior is very nice and original, with the exception of the cloth inserts, which were replaced when car was restored in the 70′s. Still has the original carpets, including trunk carpet. Chrome is still very good, with some pieces starting to show age. The Bamboo vinyl roof is almost perfect. Has had new master cylinder and wheel cylinders installed. Fuel system has been completely gone thru, with rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt fuel pump and gas tank removed/cleaned and lined. With some minor plating and detailing, it will be one of the nicer cars at any show.
