What makes this 1953 De Soto Sportsman for sale on Hemmings.com isn’t the car itself, the Hemi under the hood, or even the photos showing the extensive body-off restoration. Rather, it’s the chromed De Soto helmet resting on the transmission hump. Perfect touch. From the seller’s description:

Three-year body-off restoration on this De Soto. Just completed last year, and trophy winner with complete electrical, paint, int., Kelsey Hayes wire wheels, with p/b p/w p/b, everything rebuilt but engine and tranny. The motor was recently rebuilt, and was beautiful inside, as was the trans.
