1950 Chrysler Newport Town & Country

Chrysler’s wood-trimmed Town & Country models remain popular among collectors, and their relative rarity means that prices for finished cars remain high. This 1950 Chrysler Newport Town & Country for sale on Hemmings.com remains a work in progress from a restoration initiated in 2006, which puts it within reach of far more collectors than a show-ready example. It will clearly need some effort to complete, but with new brakes, exhaust, springs, and a rebuilt engine, much of the mechanical work has already been addressed. From the seller’s description:

Treated to a frame-off restoration in 2006, but left in primer to await revarnishing. Loss of financing prevented final work, but have been driving it as is (it is registered and running, and I’ve put 1,100 miles on the car). Every bit of rust removed, and engine rebuilt, new springs, brakes, exhaust, wood and metal rockers, NOS bumpers, etc. Seats new under original 1950 covers; all gauges and clock work. 56K invested, asking 35K. Only 699 of these cars were made.
