There’s something timeless about early woodie wagons, perhaps because they represent a time when craftsmen, not robots, built cars. Their upkeep requires a bit more commitment (and a bit more elbow grease) than with steel-bodied cars, giving owners more reason to spend time in the garage. This 1931 Model A Ford Woodie Station Wagon for sale on Hemmings.com needs a new caretaker, and the owner says it offers the original engine and transmission, good paint, excellent wood and less than 89,000 miles on the odometer. From the seller’s description:

original 3 spd engine, 88,644 miles, excellent condition, included; all 7 side curtains (which snap on to the car), a steel side-curtain storage pan under the rear tailgate, and owner’s manual. The exterior paint is in good condition with a few minor flaws. The interior, the wood sides and roof are all in excellent condition with no blemishes. The automobile had been serviced and detailed recently and it is in good running condition.
