Hemmings Find of the Day – 1928 Chevrolet track roadster
History doesn’t stick much to early track roadsters like the clay and the dirt they ran on. The whole point to them was to go racing with as little outlay of cash as possible, so they weren’t all that special to begin with – many times plucked from junkyards to be rebuilt into race cars – and the racing itself left them in tatters by season’s end. This Mercury flathead-powered 1928 Chevrolet track roadster for sale on Hemmings.com, however, somehow survived several seasons of roundy-round and land-speed racing as well as a more recent restoration with its provenance intact.
