1957 Chevrolet 4400 ferris wheel truck

We sure didn’t have this where I grew up. Apparently, trucks like this 1957 Chevrolet 4400 would ride around residential neighborhoods back in the day, stop, and cage up your children for a fee offer totally awesome Ferris wheel rides for your kids. While I admire the entrepreneurial spirit behind it, I would’ve cringed from this as a kid. Probably played Mr. Ding-a-ling music while they were at it, too. Add in a clown or two for perfect childhood trauma. From the seller’s description:

This is a very rare amusement truck from the 50’s & early 60’s. These trucks would ride around neighborhood’s -(like Mister Softee still does today), and sell rides! This is an original truck from that era. All the components are in working order! This would be a great advertising Gig! Not to mention a money maker if you use your imagination! The truck runs and drives good, and the ride works great. The Ferris wheel is PTO driven. Very Cool and boy, is it an attention getter! It has the original straight 6 and the 4 speed on the floor with 46565 miles. Also it has the speaker system outside for music! That works too! The vehicle is in need of some restoration, the bottoms of the Ferris wheels cabs need some sheet metal work. The truck body is in good condition. But if you can do the work yourself-you have it made! This is your opportunity to own something so very different-not to mention pretty cool!
