Hemmings Find of the Day – 1976 GMC Coach

Published by Mike on

The slogan emblazoned across the aluminum body of this 1976 GMC Coach says all and nothing at once: Easiest Travel on Earth. This, like many other advertising slogans, was carefully crafted to convey a sense of comfort, authority, and convenience without risk. Was this bus truly the easiest way to travel on the entire earth? Uncertainly. Years ago, we purchased some slakey beverages of a forgotten brand but remembered slogan. That slogan was this: One of America’s two great beers. So it goes. A one-way trip from Sarasota to Miami on a Trailways bus similar to this in luxury and comfort cost only $6.45 as advertised in a 1966 Sarasota Herald Tribune. We’re not sure if bus #184 made the Sarasota-Miami run, but it looks as if it could have a few stories to tell wherever on earth it traveled. The seller has little to say about it, only that it’s in good condition.
