Hemmings Find of the Day – 1960 Dodge Phoenix

Published by Mike on

For the second time in just a few days, we’ve found a four-door from the Eisenhower Era with 70-something thousand miles on it, this time a 1960 Dodge Phoenix four-door. As econobiker noted the other day, that was about the typical life expectancy for a car in those days, but it makes us wonder why somebody would keep these end-of-life cars around for a few decades? Certainly they weren’t intentionally preserved because somebody thought they would become collectible someday, right? From the seller’s description:

This 1960 Dodge Phoenix 4-door sedan has 77,297K miles on the original engine, runs and drives very good, new original design interior, new original color paint, metallic tan and white exterior, tan interior, tail fins, automatic, power steering, push button transmission, and is a daily driver. Very few (17,000) made. Air does not work.
