Harlem, 1949

The problems of keeping a car in a large city are nothing new, as we see from this New York Public Library photo of West 125th Street in Harlem, taken in September of 1949 and labeled “parking congestion.” I don’t see anybody double or triple parked, so I bet modern New Yorkers would call that label an overstatement. What do you see here?
