“What if?” is always a fun question. It’s doubly entertaining when we think about it in relation to something very, very modern. So, what if Grand Theft Auto V had been released for the Commodore 64 of the mid 1980s? What would it have looked like? How would the automotive element of the open-world title have changed? How abysmal would the graphics be?
Thankfully, we no longer have to wonder, thanks to the work of YouTuber ?Majami Hiroz: Welcome to the ’80s, who developed this very, very retro version of GTAV’s opening scene. If it shows us one thing, it’s that we should be grateful to live in a world where our games looks, sound and play as well as they do. Just think of how much less engaging and satisfying a car chase would be in this.
