Gran Turismo Quattroporte – 1965 Pontiac Tempest GTO

Starting a project with a four-door takes some guts, but it has its perks. Mike Martin scored this ’65 Tempest four years ago for less than $2,000.
Starting a project with a four-door takes some guts, but it has its perks. Mike Martin scored this ’65 Tempest four years ago for less than $2,000. It was a low-mileage driver and it was complete, but it had some rust that had to be addressed. Back then it was stock, with a 326ci V8 backed by an auto trans, but some thrifty eBay shopping netted him the parts to swap in a Richmond six-speed and suspension widgets to make it handle just right. This Poncho is a great example of a low-buck, homebuilt ride.
