From the Toolbox – A reader-submitted challenge
Photos by Jake Schreiber.
It’s been a while since we’ve run an installment in the “From the Toolbox” series, but we recently received a pair of photos from reader Jake Schreiber that, quite frankly, has us baffled.
As Jake writes,
…the tool that is shown in the two photos… may end up not being car related. My daughter’s father-in-law recently found it and asked me to help him identify it, but I have run out of ideas. It is 5″ long and 2.5″ wide at its widest point.
That isn’t a lot to go on. We don’t know the size of the wrench, though to scale it appears to be (very) roughly 1/3 inch. We also don’t know if the flared end is hollow, in which case the hooked end could be for leverage to bend something.
That manufacturer’s mark leaves us baffled as well. It appears to be a stylized tree, which could indicate the tool is agricultural in nature (needed to adjust an industrial sprinkler, perhaps).
Since we’ve run out of ideas in house, we’re hoping someone in the Hemmings Nation can help us out. Do you recognize this mystery wrench, and if so, what is it used for?
