Four-Links – Armstead found, Stout around, Modes and Motors, sitting muscle
*After digging up the patents and some extra information to go along with that Armstead Snow Motors video that always makes the car-guy rounds ever winter, we started keeping an eye out for more, perhaps evidence of the existence of one of these sleds, and we found it over at the H.A.M.B., provided by user Fool Injection, in an excellent post on a wide variety of unusual snow vehicles.
*Reader Steve Carroll recently tipped us to this story from the Winston-Salem Journal on Dick Taylor’s Stout Scarab, which he uses “only for tooling around Lumberton.”
*Dean’s Garage just did a great thing and posted full scans of Modes and Motors, the 1938 booklet by GM’s PR department that looks at the artistic aspects of designing an automobile. Little new here for serious students of automotive history and design, but still an interesting read nonetheless.
*Over at Ryan Brutt’s Cars in Barns blog, he’s on the road again around Macomb, Illinois, ironically finding plenty of cars not in barns.
* Finally, Blog dos Carros Antigos recently ran three photos from a police standoff/shootout, but provided no accompanying information. Anybody seen these photos before and can provide some background information?
