Four-Links – Amphibaker, steam trucks, D-Type assembly, AMC drag history
*This is the kind of imagination I like to see in customizing: H.A.M.B. member ARNIE, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, has been merging Amphicars with various sheetmetal from 1950s American cars, including a bullet-nose Studebaker, above. Very interested in seeing how that turns out.
*BigLorryblog had a hot treat for us over the New Year’s holiday, with plenty of pictures of steam-powered trucks chugging up a hill from the Stotfold road rally.
* A few weeks ago, we came across several photos taken inside the factories that built some exotic machinery, and now Harlo at the Chicane has another for us, taken of 14 Jaguar D-Types in the midst of assembly at Coventry.
*My apologies for not jotting down the name of the AMC-Lister who recently posted this link to a recent Competition Plus article on the story behind the Booth-Maskin AMC Pro Stock drag racing effort, but it’s still worth linking to, if only for the tidbit that Don Nicholson very nearly raced for AMC.
* Finally, if you’ll recall those “red devils” buses we spotted in Panama a few years back, you may also appreciate the assemblage of Maltese buses that Jesse’s put together over on the justacarguy blog. Not as brightly painted or individualized, but certainly older and just as unique.
