Family albums ‘n four-speeds – the Lee clan’s cars
While not all of the Lee clan seem to be as car nutty as a couple of its members, Jim and John, they’re at least as entertaining, with plenty of car memories among the 10 of them (five boys, five girls). In response to our recent requests for family album car photos, Jim pointed us in the direction of several on his blog, with many more where they came from, starting with the above shot of two of the boys (John and Ed, second and fourth, with two unidentified boys) behind a Model A, in Shrewsbury, Missouri, circa 1963 or 1964.
Jeeps of the CJ varieties figure heavily in the family photo album, including this snowy ride with John, David and Edward in Springfield, Missouri, circa 1969.
In another post, Jim provided more evidence of the family’s Jeep affliction, with Edward standing in Turnback Creek with a couple stuck flatfenders.
A great photo of their mother, Mary Lou, with a Ford woody station wagon, probably taken around 1943.
Joan on the hood of an XKE, circa 1969.
Jim and his 1967 Triumph Spitfire.
And finally, though it’s not a car, Jim also had a post about the backyard train the family had. It’s a G-12 made by the Miniature Railroad Company of Rensselaer, Indiana.
We have more reader family album photos to share in future posts, so keep sending in those family album car photos – we love to see ‘em!
