Dale Earnhardt Jr Stopped for Speeding on Way to NASCAR Race

Published by Mike on

NASCAR drivers are used to racing at speeds approaching 200 mph, which means driving on public roads is likely an excruciating exercise in restraint. Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently proved this while driving to the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway when he was pulled over by authorities for speeding.

According to CBS News, Earnhardt was fortunate–he received a warning instead of a costly citation. His fiancée Amy Reimann was riding shotgun and decided to document the incident on Twitter where she posted a photo and called Earnhardt her “little speed racer,” accompanied with the hashtags “WheelingIt” and “warning.” Earnhardt appears to be driving a Buick Enclave crossover.

Earnhardt also took to Twitter for some light-hearted tweets. When one fan asked how fast he was going when he got caught, Earnhardt replied, “not fast enough.”

Earnhardt stopped competing in this season’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series back in September after he began experiencing concussion-like symptoms. He is in the middle of recovering from the condition and hopes to race again for the 2017 season. NASCAR.com reports that a crash involving Earnhardt at the Michigan International Speedway back in June is likely what caused the injury.
