Cleveland, 1972
Looking to add more parking to its downtown location, Cleveland State University in 1972 went on a sort of buying spree, snapping up apartment buildings along East 20th Street to tear them down and build a new parking garage. Before the university did so, however, it documented many of the buildings and existing parking lots and, in the process, provided a snapshot of what folks in the area (we’re guessing mostly students) were driving, which we found on the Cleveland Memory online photo archive. What do you see in these photos?
