Chicago, 1986

For our street scenes series, we haven’t yet ventured this deep into the Eighties, but why not? It’s now more than a quarter-century past, plus if we find some wrecking yard photos, there’s bound to be some much older vehicles hanging around, as is the case with this 1986 shot by C. William Brubaker of Goose Island in Chicago, as seen from North Halsted Street looking toward the Division Street bridge. From looking at the area today, we can see that this little corner of land still houses a towing company and the vehicles they’ve removed from the streets, so maybe some of these same cars are still there? While pondering that, what do you see here?
