Chicago, 1941
You know what’s been missing from most of our street scene photos? Trucks! And it’s certainly not because trucks were hardly seen on the streets of yesteryear, as we see from this John Vachon/Farm Security Administration photo that Shorpy recently dug up, shot on Chicago’s West 15th Street (somewhere between Racine and Morgan, where the buildings still stand today) in July 1941.
