Reader Paul Nielsen sent us today’s carspotting photo, scanned from a slide that his father, Merrill, took in either 1961 or 1962 while he was working in Alaska. “It’s of Fourth Avenue in downtown Anchorage,” Paul wrote. “The earthquake of 1964 destroyed the street, it dropped 30 feet in spots.” Read more
