BREAKING: Arson at McCormick’s Palm Springs auction

Keith McCormick is literally sifting through the ashes this morning. The jovial, well-respected auctioneer can only shake his head, and wonder who set the blaze on Friday night that destroyed one building, and an undisclosed number of cars inside.

Reports in the Desert Sun suggest the contents of the 244 North Indian Canyon Drive building were customer cars, and about 18 altogether were damaged. We don’t yet know if they were in some way left over from his hugely successful November 27-29 auction; consignments for retail sale; or early consignments for his February 26-28 sale. McCormick has already promised the sale will go on – a neighboring business has already offered Keith the use of a building while he rebuilds.
