Automotive fine art display at 2017’s The Elegance at Hershey
“Fatty,” by Bobbie Crews; 36 x 24-inches, oil on linen; sold, in a private collection.
The upcoming Elegance at Hershey concours d’elegance, to be held from Friday, June 9 through Sunday the 11th, on the grounds of Pennsylvania’s Hotel Hershey, will be a top-flight affair. This year’s honorary chairman is Hemmings’ friend and Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance founder, Bill Warner, and the popular automotive artist display area will be filled with some of our favorite talents.
If you aren’t familiar with these talented artists, allow us to introduce them through their appearances in various Hemmings publications.
Sciota, Pennsylvania, resident Bill Bravo creates fascinating digital pieces, and he’s a familiar sight at the wonderful AACA Museum. Bobbie Crews will be traveling up from Knoxville, Tennessee, bringing a selection of her distinctively beautiful “abstract-realistic” automotive fine artwork that has been collected and displayed across the country. The gregarious Joe Pepitone, known throughout the old-car hobby as JoepeP, is bringing some recent pieces this show from his home in Wilmington, North Carolina.
“1937 Delahaye Roadster,” by JoepeP; 36 x 24-inch framed Archival Print. Created for the 2017 Elegance at Hershey Silent Auction, and additionally signed by Melanie Pray, daughter of classic-car collector Malcolm S. Pray, Jr.
When he’s not building (and playing) automotive-themed guitars, Reading, Pennsylvania, resident Dan Reed is creating artful car, architecture and pet images.
“Atomic Cafe,” by Dan Reed; 12 x 12-inches, acrylic on canvas; available for purchase.
Automotive Fine Arts Society member and regular Pebble Beach Concours art tent participant Tony Sikorski is bringing his fascinating sculptures from McMurray, Pennsylvania. And fans of classic American performance cars will thrill to see the creations of Milford, Ohio’s David Snyder, whose boldly colorful dealership scenes are his trademark.
“1957,” by David Snyder; 22 x 28-inch limited-edition print; available for purchase.
The artists display tent will be conveniently located near the entrance to The Elegance Show Field at the Hotel Hershey, and will welcome visitors from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 11. We hope you’ll become patrons of the automotive fine arts!
