If you like to see vintage highway construction pictures, TexasFreeway.com, on which we’ve found plenty of Houston-area freeway photos, is the place for you. Among those photos, however, are plenty of “before” shots that capture the highways and surface roads as they were prior to some massive construction projects. Take, for instance, the above photo of U.S. 183 in Austin, Texas, where now an elevated six-lane highway towers above the surrounding area. Or below, two photos of Texas 71, the first just east of Manchaca and the second just west of First. What do you see here?
