According to Roger Wollstadt, this surprise snowstorm dumped about 12 inches of snow on Arlington, Virginia, before the morning of January 20, 1966, and from the snowbound cars on the street in front of Roger’s apartment, it doesn’t look like most of his neighbors – or the city itself, judging from the unplowed streets – were all that prepared for snow of any sort, let alone a foot of it.
