Regular Shorpy readers may have seen these two images recently. Both feature the Telstar Radome in Andover, Maine, one of the largest air-supported structures ever built – so, apparently, a super-size version of those blow-up golf and tennis centers you see across suburban America. According to the IEEE Global History Network, the one in Maine (another one was built in France) went up after 1960, which gives us a rough timescale. From the cars in the photos, maybe we can better pinpoint the dates of the two photos. What do you see here?
