We get up close with Jim Warter’s record breaking F-body

This past weekend November 7-10, 2013, was the 2013 NHRA Auto Club finals; one of the largest drag racing events of the year, held at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, formerly known as Pomona Raceway. The track is located in Pomona, California and contains a two lane, quarter-mile dragstrip. While we were at the race, we had the chance to catch-up with Northwest Division 6 Hall of Famer, Jim Warter, of Olalla, Washington. Warter owns a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro that he’s been racing for more than 20 years. A 5-time division champion, Warter currently holds 35 national records. The Camaro he brought to the race last week currently holds the 2013 record in the F-super modified class with a best run of 8.62 seconds at 156mph that was recorded earlier this season. His son, Ryan Warter, 29, is the driver of the Camaro. Check-out the full scoop on this wicked, Camaro.
