1988 Chevy Sprint – Start to Finish

A sleeper is nothing new: loads of power in a granny car. This is that idea, times 10: a 1,300hp, twin-turbo, 402ci V8 in a Chevy Sprint. Yeah, a Chevy Sprint, the predecessor to a Geo Metro, something suitable for a three-cylinder engine, not a high-horsepower Kenny Duttweiler small-block. Owner Bob Brasfield from Charlotte, North Carolina, had an identical-looking Sprint before this one. It had a lower-powered small-block and the original unitized body. It became a parts car after Bob was rear-ended at a stoplight, and the car burned to a shell.
